University: Nearing the End

September 22, 2021
Reading time: 1 minute

University has been a fun and interesting experience so far. It's given me many amazing opportunities and has taught me much about computer science -- and myself. Sadly, all good things have to come to an end. I'll be graduating this December and have a few university things to finish off. I've just started two new classes this September and I'm currently working to finish off my final year dissertation. At the same time, I'm also currently looking for my first graduate job. Exciting times!

I truly have enjoyed university and I'm not just saying that. I believe if you have the opportunity or desire, you should definitely consider going to university -- especially if you are wanting to work in a STEM field such as computer science / software engineering. Granted, this isn't the case for all jobs / fields, but for technical ones, It's a great opportunity to learn from experts who know about the field you are going to work in.

I'm currently putting together a portfolio of my work on this website which is available via the main menu above. I plan to put projects that I'm proud of up there. These will be things like projects I worked on at the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier University, projects I worked on during my studies, hobby projects, etc. I meant to do something similar a while back when I first created this website but never had the chance to get round to it due to university work and other commitments.
